Recommended Ways of Spending Time at the Camping Ground BEST 5

Number 1: Outdoor barbecuing

Griddles, cooking stoves, cooking utensils can be rented. (first-come-first-served basis: the number of them is limited.) Please do not forget to bring ingredients. No food or drinks are sold on the camping ground. Firewood and charcoal are sold at the administrative building. (You can bring them by yourselves too.)

Number 2: Climbing Mt. Kyogatake

Mt. Kyogatake is the highest mountain in Saga Prefecture. It is 1,076 meters tall. It takes about two and a half hours to get to the top, from which you can have a good view of Mt. Aso and the Omura Bay on a clear day.

Number 3: Campfire (Reservation is required.)

Why don't you sit around a big fire and talk? Make memories of the summer. However, please handle fire carefully.

Number 4: somen nagashi

Catch somen flowing through a bamboo water pipe in nature. Please bring 'noodles' and 'soup' by yourselves. The places where you can do 'somen nagashi' are two: under the kitchens next to Bungalow 'Shiragiku' and next to Bungalow 'Bodaiju.'

* Somen nagashi is on the first-come-first-served basis on the day of that event. However, please be considerate so that other people can do it too.

Number 5: playing in water

It may be a good idea to cool a watermelon or a drink in two rivers flowing through the camping ground.

Others

If you go down 500 meters from this camping ground, you will find 'Hiratani Onsen' (or Hiratani Hot Spring). Also, delicious 'spring water' is flowing out at the product direct sales store near the camping ground, and a lot of people gather there from outside the city as well as from the city.
